The right foundations make the difference between a building project reaching its potential, or falling short. ACAI constructed a reinforced concrete foundation for the new kiln building at Dadeville Pole Company in Dadeville, AL. Adams Construction and Associates served as the General Contractor for the construction of this lumber mill in Thweatt Industrial Park. As part of the milling process, the kiln building will be used to treat pine logs to be used as overhead electric poles by Alabama power and other electrical and telecommunication utility providers throughout the southeast.
This photo is of the steel reinforcement and form boards for a future reinforced concrete foundation in Union Springs, AL. The foundation will support a metal building that will serve as an agricultural seed processing mill at Sims Brothers Farm. The foundation was designed by Tyler Fair, Adams Construction’s project engineer.
Reinforced concrete is a composite material in which the relatively low tensile strength and ductility of concrete are compensated for by the inclusion of small proportionate amounts of rebar (reinforcing bar), which are specially shaped high-strength steel bars. The rebar is embedded passively in the concrete before the concrete sets.
